Wearingeul Soyoungwije is a deep, atmospheric ink built around a dark violet base with layered effects that make it more complex than a standard purple. Created by Wearingeul, it is part of the Yi Sang literature series, inspired by the mood of the writer’s work and the imagery of a quiet, emotional night.
On paper, the color appears as a rich purple that can lean almost blue-black in finer lines. In heavier strokes, it reveals a dark brown sheen along with silver shimmer particles that catch the light. This combination creates a layered effect, where the base color, sheen, and shimmer all interact depending on the paper and nib used.
In everyday use, it flows well but behaves like most shimmer inks, meaning it works best with broader or wetter nibs to fully show its character. It’s not water-resistant, and regular cleaning is recommended to avoid buildup from the shimmer particles. On good paper, it delivers strong shading and a more expressive look, especially for journaling or creative writing where variation in tone adds depth.
