On paper, it usually appears as a dark olive-black tone with subtle brown and green undertones. In lighter strokes it can lean more greyish or greenish, while heavier writing brings out deeper brown-black richness. The ink is known for strong shading, so letters naturally show variation between lighter and darker areas, giving the writing a textured, almost “weathered” look instead of a flat black line.
