The Pilot Vanishing Point Raden Water Surface combines the convenience of a retractable fountain pen with traditional Japanese decorative craftsmanship. Small pieces of iridescent abalone shell are set against the black lacquered body, creating a flowing pattern inspired by light reflecting across the surface of water.
Each piece of shell catches the light differently, revealing changing shades of blue, green, and violet as the pen moves. The design is finished with multiple layers of lacquer and polished to create a smooth surface with a deep, luminous appearance.
A push-button mechanism extends and retracts the nib, allowing the pen to be used without removing a cap. The retractable 18-karat gold nib offers a smooth writing experience, while an internal shutter closes when the nib is retracted to help protect it from drying out.
