P.W. Akkerman Fountain Pen Ink - 17. Staten-Generaal rood

P.W. Akkerman Fountain Pen Ink in 17 Staten-Generaal Rood is a deep red ink with warm burgundy undertones that give it a rich and slightly formal appearance on the page. The color feels more restrained than a bright crimson, leaning instead toward a darker wine-like red that remains readable while still standing out from standard blue or black inks.

The ink flows smoothly and develops subtle shading depending on the nib and paper, with darker pooled areas and softer red highlights appearing across each stroke. It has a balanced feel in everyday writing and works especially well for those who want a red ink with more depth and less sharpness than traditional correction-style reds.

Like the rest of the Akkerman collection, it comes in the brand’s signature glass bottle with the marble reservoir system that helps make filling easier even when the ink level becomes low. The overall tone of Staten-Generaal Rood feels classic and composed, offering a red that carries personality without becoming overpowering.
