Field Notes “Paletas” is the Summer 2026 Quarterly Edition, inspired by the frozen fruit treats that make the hottest days feel a little more bearable. Bright, nostalgic, and full of summer color, this edition celebrates the paleta with three different 3-packs, each named after classic flavors.
The story behind the edition reaches back to Tocumbo, Michoacán, where paleta-making traditions helped shape the paleterías that later spread throughout Mexico and into the United States. In keeping with that inspiration, the text throughout these Notas de Campo memo books appears in Spanish, giving the edition a strong connection to the culture and tradition behind the treats.
Each pack features bold, flavor-inspired covers printed on 12 pt WestRock Tango C1S cover stock, finished with a mix of shiny gloss and frosty matte varnishes. Inside are 48 cream-colored dot-grid pages made from 60#T Domtar Lynx paper. The transparent backing cards feature artwork by Chicago Chicanx artist Atlan Arceo-Witzl, illustrated in the style of classic paleta wrapper logos.
Pack A includes Chicle, Sandía, and Queso Crema.
Pack B includes Piña, Jamaica, and Fresas con Crema.
Pack C includes Limón, Coco, and Mango con Chamoy.
Colorful, playful, and rooted in a real summer tradition, “Paletas” brings a frozen-treat feeling to Field Notes’ familiar pocket memo book format.
